Understanding tax audit starts with excellent bookkeeping. Not declaring revenue lead to 50% tax penalty plus additional Revenue Quebec penalty and interest at 12% compound.
All expenses must be properly categorized and tested if they are current or long term . For owners of businesses, you must declare s15(2) or advantages in your tax return such as for car, personal use ,etc., if you don't , Revenue Quebec and Canada will audit you and charge heavy penalties and interests. If you buy a car in the company name, be sure to check out the the tax laws. Do not forget that every industry has tax credit or refund, for example, if you're in scientific company, most likely you're getting 80% cash back on your payroll, if you are restaurant , you are getting on the average 15k t o$20k cash back. So , do not forget to collect the good money in your pocket waiting for you.

No matter what kind of business you 're in, it pays to get a CPA or even better if you can find a CPA Auditor.
